Mouse stalling on Internet

Hey guys,
Just started using Red Hat 9 and everything seems to be ok (after a short battle with the ethernet card). I can now get on the Internet fine, but my mouse has a very "skippy" behavior until all contents of the page have been downloaded. It's really annoying, as I have to sit there and wait until every last bit is downloaded.
I am using a generic type of PS/2 mouse on a dual boot system with XP home. I have an Athlon 1600 and 768 MB of RAM, with 32MB Video card. Everything runs fine in XP, even while playing Warcraft III .
Any suggestions or simply pointing me to further resources would be greatly appreciated.
