Mouse roller shoots clear to bottom of page

New computer, new to linux. (want to get rid of windows) When I used the roller on my mouse, it shoots clear to the bottom of the page. Using Fadora/Red Hat. Went to mouse settings and it will not allow me to adjust. Using Firefox as Browser.

Is it a wireless mouse? Are you dual-booting with Windows? If the answer to both is 'yes', rebooting directly from Windows to Linux will result in the scroll-wheel being hypersensitive (this is true of my MS mouse).

In my case, the fix is as simple as unplugging the transceiver dongle from the computer's USB port and plugging it right back in. Or you can shut down Windows, and restart the computer into Linux.
