mouse problems with mandrake 7.0

I said earlier i was having resolution troubles but have remedied that since going into Xf86config.
Since doing that i have lost control of my mouse , If i move my mouse whatever is on the screen moves and the mouse pointer stays in the top left corner and u see a shadow pointer, I have a PS/2 compatible mouse and have it set to /dev/aux.
Are my settings wrong or is it from changing my resolution?

Any help would be appreciated ( im beginning to get allergic to linux

do an xf86config again there is a question in there that deals with configuring your mouse you probly hit the default there and now it is searching for your mouse where it doesnt happen to be

have tried all available settings with no luck , now im unable to log in as the screen flicks in and out rapidly.

Can anyone give me a step by step on how to remove mandrake from the drive so I can start over pls

wow 4 days of grey hairs, lost win 98,linux took over couldnt get it off so went thru a reformat and repartitioning,2 days of trying to get windows to recognise the cd rom and today finally i got windows 98se back on and im really happy to say mandrake 9.0 is co habitating my 13 gig HD nicely.
