Mouse cursor keeps moving left by itself

Hi,
I've got a problem with my Arch flashdisk. When I start xorg, my mouse cursor keeps moving left until it reaches the edge of the screen, where it stops. I checked the connector, etc., but it didn't help, so I guess it's software-related. What can be causing the problem? What conf files should I append?

Hello mike54, welcome to LQ,

maybe the problem is related to your mouse. I'd recommend to try another pad. Be sure to have a non-reflecting pad for the mouse (this matters only if you have an optical mouse).

Markus

Thank you for answer but that's not the case. The mouse works OK in Windows, moreover, it moves even when I lift it or turn it upside down. (It's a 10-yrs old optical Logitech, nothing special and works with no problems with the evdev drivers when I run the Arch system I have on the harddrive - I wonder why it doesn't work with nearly the very same system that is on the flashdisk) I'll check for errors but I don't think there will be any...
Thanks anyway, Mike

Edit: Oh my... Now I've got it! It's the badly callibrated joystick that is also connected...
