Mounting vs Bind Mounting:quick Question.

Ok my set up is two hdd's one laptop. sda is deadecated to two Linux OS's and home/user

sdb got three partitions win rescue, win10, extra NTFS formatted space

this 3rd partition is to be used as shared space between Linux ~ Windows.

Can I just do a striaght forward mount that partition into my /home/user/Downloads Directory, or does it have to be a bind mount to get that extra space into /home/user/Downloads ?

Should be able to mount it either way you want. I don't know the technical differences between regular and bind mounting. just know that the most direct path is usually the best option. don't overcomplicate a simple mount by mounting it twice.

I've been using linux for 4 years now give or take, and a few weeks ago when I got a usb 3.0 storage drive for my server was the first time I ever used bind mounting, and then only because of existing database storage paths for my kodi media center stuff.
