Mounting S-ATA HARD DISK DRIVES

Hello... I have an hard disk P-ATA ( in which i have linux installed ) and another one S-ATA which i can`t use... i don`t know how to mount it ... i know the command ( mount ) but i don`t know how linux recognises the S-ATA hard disk drive ( ex : the normal hard disk drive ( on P-ATA ) is HDA .... the S-ata hard disk must be SDA ... or something like it... ).... DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MOUNT IT??

Have you tried to partition and add a file system to the Sata drive? You won't be able to mount it until you have.

Do you have a /dev/sda ???

It would also help a lot if you stated your distro, there are different utilities depending on the distro for partitioning and formating. Mandrake has a gui tool, and is brain dead simple to use. Others use command line only.

Once you have it partitioned and foramtted, then you use the mount command.
