mounting NTFS partition for RED hAT 9.0


Mounting NTFS Partition

As i'm new to the Red Hat Linux ,currently using the REDHAT 9.0,as i'ave heard that some NTFS RPM are available in few sites but they ask for the NTFS version i'm using in Windows XP ,so Could any one help me to know whick RPM should i have insta as i'm using amd athlon 1800+

you cannot write on a ntfs partition (and I don't know of any module who does that). But you can read. To mount your ntfs partition in read-only mode :

find your ntfs partition by doing

fdisk -l

after mount it:

mount /dev/hd[x] /dev/win -t ntfs -o ro

if you don't have /dev/win directory, create it

I did setup ntfs on my collegues fedora machine once b4, try this site http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/redhat9.html

It has some special info on how to setup on fedora, this should sort your problem. Just matter of installing a ntfs module and then just mount ntfs drives but like the guy says on readable...
