Mounting My CD Drive

How do I mount my cd drive in Slackware 9.1? It's a slave drive on IDE 1.

As root:

mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

When you are ready to eject:

umount /dev/cdrom

I can mount it fine but the kernel tells me that I don't have unmount. Is there a place where I can download the scripts. Thanks for your help I am still a .
