Mounting Linux folder in windows
 

Hi,
My requirement is as follows.
1)All source code for the project is available on Linux
2)I have a windows box
3)My requirement is i want to see the folders in Linux from my windows machine
4)I tried configuring the samba but i am not successful in doing it.

Can somebody help me in this

Samba is your best bet. What didn't work? You might paste your smb.conf file. Did you try accessing your shares from the linux box using smbclient? If this doesn't work then windows won't be able to see it. If you're using user level security (likely), did you add samba users ala >smbpasswd -a <user>. When you do this, you really should set the user name and password to match that on Windows. Samba is well documented, I would keep at it.

I referred to 2 or 3 pages after searching in the net and made changes in the samba.conf.
I cant understand what changes i have to make(after reading your reply)
Can u give me some examples.
I get the error message when mapping as follows
"The mapped network drive could not be created because following error occured:The account is not authorized to log in from this station."

I do not know much about samba but I have got it working in this situation. I found that I had to use the same login and password for my Windows (XP) machine as the linux to get it working. There must be another way of doing it but this worked for me.

You can use "linux explorer" to access linux partitions within windows...
