Mounting HDD with Syslinux.cfg?

Is it possible to mount a harddisk with syslinux.cfg?

Our current situation is PXES thin clients, but they should access their settings by an external file, but the problem is that they can't access the harddisk by default on bootup. (PXES uses a ramdisk to put into the memory).

When PXES is done booting up and loaded it's client, then it's possible to use the mount command in the terminal.

But, we need the harddisk mounted on startup, so PXES can read an external file. Can somebody help me?

You use the fstab file to mount harddisks located in the /etc directory.

That's part of the problem, we can't edit the fstab since it's in the ramdisk, and I can't access it. Or is it possible to edit a Ramdisk? (PXES.RD)
