Mounting Floppy Drive

I have a Dell Latitude CPx with a swapable media bay that allowes me to swap between the CD-ROM and the 3.5 floppy drive, which works fine in Windows 2000.
The trouble is when I swap to running SuSE 8.1 Pro, I cannot get the the floppy drive to mount, please is there any body out there how can tell me how to get the floppy drive working.

If your /etc/fstab is correct, try this. Put a floppy in the drive and command:

mount /mnt/floppy

If that doesn't work, try:

mount -t auto /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
