Unhappy mounting FAT32?

Hi folks!

I've just installed RedHat 8.0 as a the second OS (dual OS) on my machine.
It's installed on the 4th partition.

Looks like this:

1st partition NTFS 3,5 GB
2nd partition FAT32 17 GB
3rd partition FAT32 13 GB
4th partition ext2 6,5 GB

I would like to mount the 3rd Partition but i don't get it? I've already read the man pages, but it confused me more.

So please help me little bit.

I'm not too sure, but I think it's:

mount -vfat /dev/hda3

or whatever your drive/partition label says. Try searching the fora here at LQ as I'm sure someone has their /etc/fstab file with FAT32 drives mounted. Hope this helps.

Here is what is working for me:

I have 3 partitions:

1 fat32 20Gb
2 fat32 20Gb
3 ext3 5Gb

To mount partitions 1 and 2 I did the following:

1. Under /mnt I created 2 new folders:

/hda1 (for 1st win partition) and
/hda5 (for 2nd win partition)

2. edited /etc/fstab and added following 2 lines

/dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 vfat noauto,owner,users 0 0 (1st windows partition)

/dev/hda5 /mnt/hda5 vfat noauto,owner,users 0 0 (2st windows partition)

3. Re-booted and both win partitions are available under /mnt/hda1 and /mnt/hda5. You can then add shortcuts on desktop in KDE.
