Well, mounting my CD-ROM drive worked for a SHORT while, and i also decided to d/l and install RH 7.0, so i can connect to the internet...but, when i try to do mount -t iso9660 blah blah, i get a big fat error that at the end says something to the extent of bad fs type, other things, or too many filesystems mounted...

and another thing, when i type in/click on 'dos' at lilo, it does nothing...absolutely nothing...i have 2 hard drives, hda -> linux, hdb1 (only partition) -> windoze...so far, linuxconf, and lilo.conf seem to be completely content and agreeing with that, but no windoze...if i disconnect my hard-drive with linux on it (like physically), my windoze bootz...anybody got a clue as to whats goin on for both thigns...thanks a bunch

as to your first question, without more info i can't help. how bout showing us the contents of your /etc/fstab file (controls all your filesystems).

as for the second question, windows should be the first drive. it gets stroppy if it isn;t in the first 1024th cyclinders that the computer checks. make a boot disk (hopefully you did that when you first installed). then edit lilo.conf so that it points to hda1 for windows and hdb1 for linux (the opposite of what you have now). then type lilo at the command prompt. shutdown the puter and open up the case and switch the hard drives round (making sure that you change the slave/master junpers on the back to reflect the change). whe you boot up things should be fine.

hope that helps

Alex
