Hi everyone!
Just wanted to know if there is anything else I could try. If not, do you know how to close the thread? Thank you

Hello,
It's me again. I've been busy these days. Read a lot and researched a lot. Learned a lot about Linux, that's for sure. Still need help. I want to either try to copy folders from the external or to mount the external.
I think the mistake i made previously was that my laptop had only 1 partition on it and may be that's why nothing could be mounted on it. When I tried to copy files from external. it was copying something for a very long time, but it was showing some kind of error (I couldn't read as it was going too fast). When I aborted it, I saw it had input/output error. Then I had to restart my laptop as nothing was working and when I started it again there was no operating system on it.
I reinstalled OS and made 2 partitions, equal size. Now I want to try either mounting or copying the external hard drive. I am not sure which partition to chose to mount on and how to do it correctly.
Even after reading so much I am not sure I know how to do it. Besides, the problem is that when I decided to copy, it didn't ask me where to copy to. May be it was because I didn't have a choice, only 1 partition.
If someone can spare his/her time and help me out I would appreciate it a lot. Really want to put this to an end.
I am posting the results of some commands, so you can have an idea what is going on on my laptop. I am not sure yet if I should start a new thread.
