if your using a later version of any particular distro, and you have the latest GNOME or KDE if your using those, usually it will auto mount itself while in X. If not you can use the mount command from the terminal/command line... usually depending on how you have your hardware setup, you can check your fstab file for sure, it usually would look something like this:

$ mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

and then you just cd into the /mnt/cdrom directory for access and viewing the contents of the cd.

There's no filesystem (ext2, fat32, etc) on the cd, so you won't be able to mount it.

You can "view" the tracks on the cd through xmms or any cd player or you can "copy" the tracks with a cd ripper (grip, etc.)

that is true.. you can mount the disc, but won't view but you should be able to play the disc thru whatever program or copy the tracks.. but they are not going to show up like data is going to.

Konqueror has an audio cd browser built in to the filemanager that will let you browse an audio cd like a data cd and drag tracks to your hd.
