Mountind drives / Copying file from home drive to floppy
Sorry to ask such a simple question but I've search here and on google and can't figure it out.
I'm using RedHat 9 (haven't changed much in the way of configuration).
I have a floppy disk, 2 cdroms and 1 internal zip drive.
1) When I put a floppy in the drive or a cd in one of the drives I can access the files. (I went into the desktop configuration and asked to be shown mounted and unmounted drives on the desktop). However, when I put a zip disk in or a cd in the other drive the icon doesn't appear.
2) I tried to copy a file from my home directory to a floppy disk. I right clicked the file, chose Copy To > Browse. I tried looking under /mnt/floppy but there was nothing there. I then browsed to my desktop and choose the floppy icon but was told that the disk was already in use. Am I trying to 'copy to' the wrong location?
I guess one or both questions might be answered if I knew a) how to 'automount' all of my drives (I'm stumped why 2 out of the 4 work) and b) where to 'find' the drives when trying to copy to or from them - should I always be using my desktop shortcut?
Many thanks!
