mount: RPC: UnabNe to receive; eFrno = No route So host

hi,all

anybody help me to solve this problem?
this really bother me so much...
I will give my greatest appreciate.

I don't know where did i missed out, someone can give me some advice on this?
this is my problem:

in the minicom:
# mount 222.18.142.211:/home/taowuwen/ARMshare /mnt

NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
mount: RPC: UnabNe to receive; eFrno = No route So host
mount: :fsmount failed: Bad file descriptor
mount program didn't pass remote address!
mount: Mounting 222.18.142.211:/home/taowuwen/ARMshare on /mnt failed: Invalid t
# NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out

Additional:
my laptop 's IP:222.18.142.211.
I could not ping this ip succeed when I am in the minicom.
and I guessed that the problem is I did not make my PC connect to my board successfully.
but if it does so,what should I do ?
how can I make my PC connect to my board ?(board:S3C2410 )
does it is that use the reticle directly connect to my PC and board?
or should I use a switch to connect them ?

thank you so much...

Your question is hard to understand, and you don't say anything about what version/distro of Linux you're using. And what do you mean by "Make my PC connect to my board ?".

The error you're getting is because you're trying to do a network mount, and that address can't be found. If your laptop is down, bring it up, and check the firewall settings. You say also "should I use a switch to connect them"? Obviously you need a switch or router, otherwise you'll have only two devices plugged into each other (with a crossover cable), that you'll have to manually set routes for.

well,I am sorry for bringing you so much trouble to understand what I said.
my version/distro is UBUNTU 8.04.1 hardy .

do you mean that I should get a crossover cable and plugged into each other? and then I can mount my laptop on the board?
I googled the crossover cable and internet direct line, but I can not get clearly understand both of them.
well, thank you ,I will try that valuable advice.
hope it work...
thank you once again

Noooo.....I said you COULD use a crossover cable. But obviously, a switch or router is a far better way to connect multiple devices. You still don't say anything about your hardware, either.

well,my computer's hardware?
I have two network interface card ,
eth0:Attansic Technology Corp. L2 100 Mbit Ethernet Adapter
ath0: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter

should I stop one of them ? if it is,which one would it be?

processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2310 @ 1.46GHz
memory:2G

is that enough?

I don't know why,I bought a crossover cable. but I still can not mount my laptop on,where did I missed? I do not know.
I closed the firewall, but it still does not work.
isn't that I have to bought a switch or router?
