mount partition not mounted

Hallo,

I have just installed Gentoo Linux. I used fdisk for partitions and made a swap partiotion (id 82). Now, when I boot the system, the boot partition is not mounted, although it exists in the file /etc/fstab. What should I do to mount the swap partiotion at boot time? Thanks

you shoulnd' tbe mounting boot as routine. you don't need to. moreover if you mount it, you risk somethign happening to it if your system were to have a nasty failure. if it's not mounted, it can't go wrong. mount it on an adhoc basis. this is by design within the default gentoo fstab file.

Hallo,

what do you mean by adhoc way? /swap is already mounted in /etc/fstab but it is not mounted at the boot time.

Thanks
