mount iso in slackware 10

I'm using slackware 10 with the stock 2.4.26 kernel. when i try to mount an iso file i get this message:

mount -o loop -t iso9660 tiger.iso /mnt/iso

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
or too many mounted file systems.

chmoding the file to 777 doesnt help. I have no idea what to do-all i've read says it's really simple and this is all you have to do-but i'm getting this error message. please help!

I've never had that problem. what type of iso is it? For example, data, audio...

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm very curious, is tiger.iso an iso image of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? I ask because I did that exact thing. I made an iso of my Crouching Tiger DVD, calling it tiger.iso, mounted it to /mnt/iso, using the exact same command, so that I can watch it in Mplayer. It worked great the first time I did it, but now I mount it, and it seems to mount fine, and with the DVD device set to /mnt/iso, it won't play. It says "Can't open VMG Info." I haven't tried to recopy the DVD and see if it works again yet.
Anyway, I just thought that was an amazing coincedence that someone else was doing the same thing I am.
