mount a remote folder over ssh

i have access to an server that i can ssh into. i would really like to mount that drive as a directory on my system. not sure if there is any way to do that but it would be convenient for what im doing:

i am using bluefish on the remote server with x11 forwarding but i have bluefish on my local machine (which runs a lot faster obviously). although i could use my local version and upload the files it is convenient to be able to access the files on the server while im doing it (lots of saving and testing)

any ideas?

thanks.

I think sshfs is what you're looking for.
