more stable linux
 

hello,

i am using fedora on my pc and i came accross that fedora almost get new releases about 2-3 times a year.

well, is there any other linux that is little more stable than that?
and which linux is more suitable for a webserver?

Use debian stable - it only gets updated every couple of years!! It is a 'stable' distribution and thus is perfect for servers where staying up is important.

Security holes get patched regularly using the apt-get package management system.

You don't have to reinstall everytime there's a new release. As long as security patches are being sent out, you're good to go (of course, Fedora/Red Hat's is likely the shortest support cycle). But, if you want stable, try Debian, Slack(Vector is stable too), or Gentoo.

distros really come down to a matter of preference. i found the above to have some good documentation on major differences in linux 'flavors'

apache is really the prime webserver, if that's your only concern, you might want to look into a 'security-enhanced' or 'minimilist' distro to maxamize performance. FCx would not be my first suggestion for a box that will only serve web pages.
