more application to use same device?
 
I m using Red Hat 9 and i had lot of trouble with installing sound device, but now i m finished and I would like to know if it is possible for more than one application to use sound device. If I try using Team speak an listening music. When i start second application it said device is used by other application.

You will need a sound server (like KDE's artsd).

Gnome has esd, a sound server will help but the catch is that the applications you use has to support output using it. If it has no support you can try executing "esddsp <program>" to allow non-esd applications to route through esd, though from past experience it rarely works properly.

An easier solution would be getting yourself a cheap soundblaster live, it's capable of doing hardware mixing therefore you won't have to worry about sound servers and such..

but i have sound card ac97. And now i tried Team speak With some mp3 player, and it worked, but when i tried team speak with Americas army I got device is already in use. And i started gnome sound mixer. But it didn't work. So what to do?
