Hey all... Im using Fedora Core 4 and am having a HUGE problem... for some reason, my monitor will just shut off and keeps turning back on but won't stay on... when it turns on it stays black and sometimes has the "1. analog display : cannot display this video type" or something to the effect. I am running a crappy ATI Radeon 9250 vid. card and a Dell flat panel monitor. can anyone help? im pulling hair over this... (i DLed the latest ATI driver with the installer but have no idea as to how to get it to work. please help.

try using in a console:
xset -dpms
if it solves the problem then you can disable in your xorg.conf file using a comment (#)...

you don't have to go into CLI (Command Line Interface) just open a console from KDE or whatever your using. then use:
xset -dpms

OK thanks. got it... it didn't give me any confirm action thing or anything telling me that anything changed.. but it stayed on.. for awhile.. i paid attention this time though... when it happens, typically, blue lines fill a particular area... and when it fills up... the screen goes out... ive only noticed this blue phenomenon when using firefox though and it gets laggy... like... i cant do anything except move the mouse around... it stayed on for several hours at least this time... i dunno... anyways.. thanks
