monitor resolution problem
I'm sorry if this seems a little silly, but I am an (almost) complete linux newb. I just installed the new "natty" 11.04 (x86) distro from Ubuntu to dual boot with win7.
I noticed that it defaulted to a lower resolution for my monitor (1024:768. I can't find a higher resolution in System Settings->Monitors. Is there a way to "add" a new resolution to Ubuntu? Thank You in advance ~~Alec *-*-**-*-*-* System info (let me know if you need more): AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor 3.00GHz (dual core) 5.00 GB RAM (4.75GB usable) ATI Radeon 3000 (graphics) Widescreen (HD_ready) LCD monitor (1920:1080 max resolution) |

What kind of video card do you have? If you don't know, post the output of this command:
Code:

I don't think that VirtualBox can necessarily support your monitor's native resolution.
It would be best for someone that knows more about this to reply. |
To get higher resolutions and some neat extra features install the Virtualbox Guest Additions. You can learn how to do that in the Virtualbox manual.
