Monitor Issue for a newbie

I'm running Mandrake 10, I just bought a new mag innovision flat screen monitor LT582 model, I boot my pc and the monitor states "not support". I was able to use my Dell monitor. I also have Server 2003 running on my pc and I can use the flat screen monitor. I'm assuming this is a driver issue, but not sure what to do. I went to the Mag's website but looks as though they do not have a driver for Linux. Am I dead in the water or is there a way around this.

Sorry I'm a brand new user so hopefully I don't offend anyone.

Thanks

I have the MAG Innovision LT565, which should be very similar to your LT 582,... I think the 565 is the 15" and the 582 is a higher resolution and somewhat larger monitor.

You need to know the refresh rates for the device and its resolution at those specific refresh rates. Then, you might need to use the "Auto Adjust" button on the side to make sure the picture is full frame rather than off to the side.

Input the specific refresh rates into your screen setup app. In Mandrake, I believe it's XFDrake. You might need to hand tweak your config file after that...

thanks, it works like a charm after I adjusted the resolution. Sorry for my ignorance.

Thanks for letting us know your successful status. Good luck running Mandrake,... it's a good distro.
