Monitor flickering

how do i stop my monitor , an LG 500g from flikering . Am running Red Hat 9 on an AMD Duron.

Is it constantly doing it? I sometimes have it but I found out it's my mobile phone or so going off.

Most probable reason is some electronic interference - could be from the cell phone or the speakers. Also try to change the plug/socket where you connect your power line.

Another reason could be that you are running your monitor on a resolution that your graphics card is finding hard to work at. For example, if you work at 1024x768 try changing to 800x600 and see if it still flickers.

mine automatically goes off for like a sec or so and it not as a result of interference from the cell. May be the refresh rate i suspect but have no idea how to fix if
