monitor bandwidth overnight + user?
 
How can I log the bandwidth usgae of a VPN user overnight?
We have a block on service overnight and I think someoneis downloading a lot of data but I cannot check who.

I thought ntop was real time only?
Also, how can you link an openvpn user to the IP address displayed in ntop?

well you can't necessarily define a "user". what even IS a user relative to traffic passing through a gateway? You'd refer against IP usually.

and no, it's not just realtime. that's why I suggested it. It's not ideal, but it's easy to use and get data out of.

How can I log IP addresses from OpenVPN?
I could match these to an IP in nftop
