Modules loading at startup

I'm quite a newbie with Linux and I'd like to know how to choose which kernel modules I want to be loaded at startup. I explain: the driver that came with Suse for my network card is faulty and after 5 minutes or so, I lose network connectivity. I know which module is loaded and that is causing my problem but I don't know how to prevent his loading at startup.

In other words, I'd like to know where (in which file[s]) the kernel search for loading modules.

By the way, for those who would say "Try modprobe -r modulename", I already know that command but I would have to do it every time I log on...

The ditribution I use is Suse 9.2.

hmmm...well I think Suse hotplugs modules. Check out /etc/hotplug/blacklist. I think thats where the blacklist file is in Suse but I'm not 100% on that. Also, check out /etc/modprobe.conf.
