modprobe command doesn't work please help
hi,
modprobe doesnt appear to exist on my fedora 4 i have no idea why. Please help! |
Are you trying to run it as root? What does "ls /sbin/modprobe" give you as root?

appologies i meant to say that it does but its returning as failed. Seems i need to install ndiswrapper but i ahve a problem with that now too.

What exactly are you typing and what error message are you getting. It's impossible to figure out what's wrong without having the actual message modprobe is giving you.

hi,
ive looked into it a lot more, im pretty sure now that its the link between the kernel and the source? However ive tried a few different dirs and i still cant get it to work. I'm wandering if i have the kernel source installed. I installed a new kernel from the one fedora 4 came with via executing an rpm. Any ideas? This is the error message i got when typing "make" in the driver directory of the ndiswrapper (after typing make distclean): Can't find kernel sources in /lib/modules/2.6.13-1.1526_FC4.stk16smp/build; give the path to kernel sources with KSRC=<path> argument to make make: *** [prereq_check] Error 1 |
