modifying backtrack live cd...

Alright I'm trying to modify the backtrack cd to instead boot up the 2.6.16 kernel. I'm not sure where I can find the information on how to do something like this, I have looked all over the internet and the only thing I can find is how to make a live cd. Can someone please tell me where I can find a tutorial or at least explain how I can do it.

Thank You
