modify /etc/network file


new to linux and need to modify the username and password on the /etc/network file on geexbox

have been searching the web all night I am a systems admin for a MS 2003 network and want to crossover from the darkside.

need to edit this file to something like

HOST="" ""
* SMB_USER= # "myusername"
* SMB_PWD="" # "my password"

but have no cule on how to open it for editing

Right then,

Firstly, MS 2003 is the dark side - you can tell by the terrible wheezing noises your computer makes when it runs it!
Secondly, whats a geexbox? Should I have heard of this?
