Modem settings for Knoppix

Looking around, I can see that I am not the only one with this problem. I have a recent copy of Knoppix and it does not have a modem wizard setting for USA. If I had anything other than a phone modem I might stand a chance, but that's what I'm stuck with. The modem is a BroadXent V.92 PCI, not the winmodem that came in my beige box. In the modem setup menu of Kppp there are about thirty set-up lines and I have no answers. This would be more fun if I could see the rest of the world from my Knoppix distro. Any suggestions?
