modem problem

Hi

I am running rh9 kernel 2.4.20-8.

I installed the drivers for my conexant hsfi v92 minipci modem and checked that the modem is working fine using minicom

also i used wvdial to setup a ppp connection. Everything seems okay but when i open mozilla i am unable to browse ..

from the terminal i tried to ping and that seems to work fine

Do I have to do anything else to make sure that the connection works in mozilla etc...

Would appreciate help

thanks

jaina

If you can ping it, it should work fine with mozilla. Did you try using other applications that use internet? If they dont work than theres a problem with your configuration..need more info..

if you are using wvdial check for /etc/resolv.conf
it should have dns in this format:
ipname.com
nameserver XXX.XX.XX.Xx
nameserver YYY.YY.YYY.YY
your /etc/host.conf should have these lines:
order hosts,bind
multi on

Also, I suggest that you try alternate of wvdial example kppp..
Hope it helps
