Not sure about the application but it is prolly for DSL. Check into it and see if there is any help file in there with it.

What distibution d'ya use ??

You can configure the modem lights by right-click on it and choose preference, then you can setup the command there for connect and disconnect, click advance and change the LCK...modem with LCK..ttyS0 ( assuming that ur modem connected to com1 ( in ms-dos ). To get connected to the net simply click the left-hand button ( also for disconnecting ).

Before u do configuring it be sure to know how to connect to internet according to ur distribution. In redhat, after u configured the internet connection, all u have to do is just change that LCK..modem with LCK..ttyS0 as mentioned above, nothing more just click the left button and you get connected. But if you use Slack, it's a different story, u have to change files permission related to ppp, i.e pppd.

Hope it helps !!
