Modem Is Troubling A Lot
I really need some help.I have recently installed Red Hat 7.2 on my PC and I am having trouble connecting to the internet. I have Diamond Multimedia's Supraexpress 56 k V90 internal modem.I have spent almost 1 week trying to correct the problem on my own but i have failed miserably .The modem works very well with Win 98 but doesnt with linux. On Linux, in KDE Control Center it shows my modem name correctly in the I/O address range e400-e407 but in the Hardware Browser linux does not show my modem (i donno why). When I try to connect to the net by KPPP dialer it shows the message "modem is busy" (earlier it at least mounted the modem now it doesnt even do that). I have tried to configure modem by trying to point it to /dev/modem instead of /dev/ttys1, but it doesnt work then. Also when I try to Autoconfigure the modem (through Internet configuration wizard), it does not even detect it.Kindly guide me what should I do now and solve this problem.
I would greatly appreciate If you could please help me out.
Thanks
