Post Missing Windows ON Boot Load

Hey guys, welcome me to the forums :P

Well heres the Thingie. Ages ago i installed RedhAt 9, it ran allright but i had that
freeze problem where my keyboard lights would flash, But that's not the problem this is when i installed RedHat Before i had windows allready installed and when i turned on my pc, the redhat bootloader would come up and my Windows XP wouldn't show, i couldn't fix that problem so i just formated my RedHat Partition and i had to go back to Windows

But now i got Windows XP and Linspire both installed, it's working fine the linspire BootLoader if detecting my Windows XP, But another problem is i don't really like Windows XP:P, so im planning of uninstalling it and Installing Fedora CORE 3

Can someone please explain to me in simple steps how i can get my FC3 to detect my Windows XP?

Fanx,

Lol sorry i explained in such a confusing way

Right now i got Linspire installed, frankly i don't like it im more of a redhat d00d

B4 when my Windows wasn't detected i had RecHat 9, Now i downloaded FC3 and i want to install that, my concern is "Will it detect Windows XP?", If it doesn't how can i make it detect Windows XP

oops, 'n my Windows XP is on my primary Partition, im planning on formating Linspire one il be installing Fedora there.

first format linspire
then format ur mbr (master boot record) by either using windows startup disk and typing : fdisk /mbr

or loading winxp cd and enter the recovery console and type : fixmbr

then install fedora and it should detect winxp

Good luck and post any problems u have

glad to hear that it works

gaim comes preinstalled with fedora , it will connect to msn , icq , aol ,...

if u want to install amsn its better to use a package manager like apt or yum as it will take care of the dependancies

main installation types in RedHat(should be the same for Fedora)

"rpm --help" "man rpm" "info rpm"

tar.gz file

tar -xzvf

cd directory_created_from_tarfile

./configure

make

su
password

make install

usually.. Be sure to read the README's and INSTALL docs for each software..
