Red face Missing Version File ?

Hello...

I am trying to install sound drivers as Suse 9.2 did not make them work automatically. Sound Card is AC97, extracted tar into folder recomended etc etc...

However I am gettting the following error when I go to ./configure

Checking for kernel version... The file /lib/modules/2.6.8-24.11-default/build/include/linux/version.h does not exist.
Please, install the package with full kernel sources for your distribution
or use --with-kernel=dir option to specify another directory with kernel
sources (default is /usr/src/linux).

How do I rectify this please?

Thanks in advance

you need to install the kernel-source package. but, what card is it ( specifically, not AC97 as that's a specification not an actual card).

The card is on board realtek AC97 on a Gigabyte motherboard.

However the card seems to be running now..

Thanks for your help...
