missing snd-intel8x0


hi
i got some problems with my sound it cant locate module snd-intel8x0
but i got a nforce audio and i eve compiled drives
does any1 know how to fix this ?
pls help

I'm not sure but I think your card uses the same driver as the AC97 if so just do
modprobe ac97 && modprobe ac97_codec
and it should work

it works nad not works
welcome sound is there but alsa is not working
i compiled nforce sound directly inthe kernel
do i need alsa or i can just uninstall it and instal NVAudio.o for my sound card ?

because if i have alsa there iget unresolved symbols

any ideas `?

You don't have to have alsa, thats the way have set up mine just compiling the module and start listening to my mp3s without any problem. just use the oss plugin for xmms and other sound apps you use and it will be fine
