missing snd-intel8x0
 

hi
i got some problems with my sound it cant locate module snd-intel8x0
but i got a nforce audio and i eve compiled drives
does any1 know how to fix this ?

I'm not sure but I think your card uses the same driver as the AC97 if so just do
modprobe ac97 && modprobe ac97_codec
and it should work

welcome sound is there but alsa is not working
i compiled nforce sound directly inthe kernel
do i need alsa or i can just uninstall it and instal NVAudio.o for my sound card ?

because if i have alsa there iget unresolved symbols

any ideas `?

You don't have to have alsa, thats the way have set up mine just compiling the module and start listening to my mp3s :cool: without any problem. just use the oss plugin for xmms and other sound apps you use and it will be fine
