Missing Operating System

I am installing Enterprise Linux release 5 update 4 64 bit. I have made the settings for the HDD partitions (created the default partions) and seen that ext3 (101 megs) is marked by default as the /boot drive. When the setup completes and is rebooted the system fails with "Missing Operating System". This is an intel server and I have 3 500Gig drives configured with RAID 0. The install does see these drives as 1.4 terabite. The RAID was configured with the intel software that came with the moptherboard.

Does anyone seen this before? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that "Missing Operating System" message means you still have Microsoft boot code in the MBR.

I don't know whether that means there was some choice during the RHEL install for whether to set up the MBR and you incorrectly chose not to, or whether there is some other problem that might lead to still using MS boot code after a Linux install.

According to the RHEL manual, the only RAID type you can use for /boot is RAID1.

I destroyed the RAID configuration and let Linux handle it and everything is fine now.

Thanks for all the help.
