Mint Maya DVD player will not run copy of youtube video done by Ubuntu 12.04
Hello to All. I am a new one. Only user. Youtube video download was done with Ubuntu 12.04. Via USB a copy was left to Mint Maya 13. None video player will open. What's the prob?
What format is the video?
Flash-video (video/x-flv) Why this format ==> speedy low mb download.
Have you tested it in another computer?
The download was done with a netbook running Ubuntu 12.04 and copied on a USB / copied to a notebock running Mint Maja 13 having 3 video players.
How old is the disk? Could disc rot be a factor?
No disk - see answer above.
Devuan will not solve the prob.
You can also convert the *.flv file to a format that a standard player can play, according to the VLC website; I've never done this, but I have used ffmpeg to convert files from and to other formats: https://wiki.videolan.org/Fixing_.fl...i_with_Ffmpeg/
Sorry My mistake and from Mr Hentig Linux Mint remastered by ixsoft - see text
Sorry to be late. I made a mistake not mentioning the real background. I bought a USBStick Mint Maya 13 from a german Linux Internet Dealer ixsoft Mr Bernd Hentig wich is a part of verion GmbH in Germany. Running the USB it shows you different versions saying data stored or not AS REMASTERED BY IXSOFT. In any kind you will find on the desktop the function install Linux Mint Maya. So I did on the SDcard. But all versions on the SDcard are not running a copied youtube download video on the desktop or from USB. I contacted Mr Hentig and all his emails are showing that he is not a good Linux dealer also running down the good name of Linux espc Linux Mint. I stopped corresponding to him but it should be helpul for Linux to let them know that Mr Hentig is a bad boy selling bad Linux software as ixsoft remastered under the brand name Linux espc Linux Mint. Thanks for your help. Is there a way to let Linux Headquarter know?
anyhow, thanks for reporting this.
a link to the website in question and the faulty product would be good.
although i'm not 100% sure i'm understand.
maybe you can rephrase it in german (i am german) and i will try to understand & translate to the others.
