Mint 18 Install App Update from PPA

I discovered through trial and error that Update Manager in Mint doesn't actually install all updates. Found and downloaded the developer's ppa for Cherry Tree.

How to make Software Manager install an updated version from that ppa? Thank you.

Try:

Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:giuspen/ppa
sudo apt-get update
apt-cache policy cherrytree
sudo apt-get install cherrytree
