Can't find solution anywhere. I am using ubuntu and I want to make minimum password length of 7 characters for users. How can I do that ?

You need to tell us what version of Ubuntu. By default, the default min password length in Ubuntu has been 4 for many versions.

Here is the Ubuntu User Management manual for 10.4. Scroll down to Password Policy

Hi,

Not sure about Ubuntu specifics, but if it was me, I'd start with:
Code:
man 8 pam_unix
HTH,

Here is the 11.04 User Management manual. Min password is 6 characters. It's quite easy to edit pam from the command line.
