minimmun configuration to run RHEL4??


hi friends,,

i am a new member to this group, I am a beginner in linux, I would like to install linux in my computer which is pentium 3, 733MHz, 64MB SD RAM, 20 GB, 4 partions with win 98 installed, Can I use redhat linux with these configurations, if yes which version can i use. I have got an REd hat enterprise version 4 edition os, but it recommends pentium 4 and 256 MB ram, Can i use this vresion of redhat by just upgrading my ram to 256MB , will it install using pentium 3 and 733 MHz speed??

please kindly help...thanks in advance

well more ram would be nice, but yet it'll run just fine. i'm running it on a 600mhz machine with no problems. in fact eh cpu itself is never going to be a deal breaker, just heavily influence performance, and the required performance is down to what you do with it, not what the os itself is.

YEP you can install linux with no probs but as chris said more RAM would be nice. So just increase the RAM and there shouldnt be any problem.
