Minimizing the Linux(Fedora) taskbar

How can I get the Fedora taskbar(I think that's the name) to minimize? When I run windowed applications, the taskbar doesn't minimize, getting in the way. Is it susposed to shrink automatically?

If you are talking about the panel you can change it to a sliding panel and it will slide off the screen when not in use.

Do you mean you want the panel to autohide?
If you're using KDE, right click on the taskbar, click 'configure panel'. Click on the 'hiding'
tab. You can configure the hiding here.
