MINI2440 board with Samsung S3C2440 ARM9 Board + 7"TFT
 

Hello, I am new and have no experience with Linux but I have a MINI2440 with Samsung S3C2440 ARM9 board + 7"TFT and like to program this with Lunix. What must I do? I have a desk top PC with XP and The seller give me a CD rom with arm-linux-gcc-4.3.2 and busybox 1.13.3 and linux 2.6.29 mini20090429. How can I start this Linux software and run on my desktop PC to make a Linux kernel and root_yaffs image for the MINI2440 ARM9 board. Thanks

Typically with development boards they give you a software suite to communicate with the board. I'm not familiar with that model, but there should be either a serial port , or usb port for communications. Every one I have ever used had a windows based file tool to upload files to the device board. I would spend some more time reading the documentation that came with the board as they are all different.

I want to buy a dev Board, after searching on net I decided to buy & mini 2440.
I dont know if the 3.5" LCD is enough to easily develop applicactions.
and I always have a doubt about graphical performance with a so large LCD (7").

so what do you think ? could you join some photo / videos for 7" LCD

Hi, I'm using the same model from developmentboard.net, didn't they offer an users manual in the CD? which gives step-by-step guide to make the kernel and root fs? simply follow the manual and you'll get answered.

you'r right, the graphical performance on the 7" LCD is not as good as that on the 3.5" LCD... 3.5" is recommendable, check it HERE
