Unhappy mini camera as a web cam

i am using ubuntu 11.10 and i have tried to make the aiptek mega cam as a web cam, but i dont understand why the system says that camera is not found while runnig the aiptek mega cam software.... even after it display that 'camera mounted'.can anyone help me out in this????

1. Open a terminal.
2. If it's not already installed, install lsusb and run it, then post the results.
3. After plugging in the camera, run the command dmesg in the terminal. There should be information about the device there. Post the relevant information from dmesg.

It may be helpful to post information from v4lctl too.
