As said, possible but probably not worth it for much of anything other than entertainment. As suggested in your other thread here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...3/#post5618499

...using the Windows tablet you say you have access to, you should be able to use that website. You are trying to shoehorn things around, when there are much easier paths. You say in that other thread you don't have $ for things, which is understandable to anyone, but you also do have access to real computers at public libraries and other such venues where you can use a 'real' computer to access that site, for your learning purposes. If you want to load Linux on your own device, the ONLY "Step 1" to take is: Get a device you can load it on. Most all of the newer Surface tablets can easily load it, but they're expensive. Fairly good laptops can be frequently purchased for less that $300. If this is for your education, you need to get the right tools first. Otherwise, you'll face CONSTANT problems in getting things to work, which will only put you further and further behind.

If this is how you're posting things, you really should avoid forums. ANYONE can reply to any message here, in any way they see fit. Telling people you'll only accept answers that fit YOUR criteria is fairly rude.

Yes, but a Linux kernel is far from a full-blown Linux distro w/X windows, etc. The OP is (essentially) asking how to load Linux onto that device, fully. I've done some things with embedded systems, but wouldn't want to try to crack that particular nut.

Not at LQ! A member must abide by the LQ Rules when communicating or responding here. I do agree that when posting a member should not do exclusion statements. New members should read; http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...#faq_lqwelcome

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!

Indeed...note that I did *NOT* say that answering in an inappropriate manner would be tolerated by the site/moderators, just that people in a public forum COULD respond in any way they chose.

In the real world, telling people you'll only accept things the way you want them doesn't work too well.

From what I gather there's no Linux OS (IE, Firefox OS, Ubuntu Phone, Tizen, Sailfish, Debian, etc.) that's been ported to the zte midnight z768g. So I recommend forgetting about this idea.

Thanks. I had a feeling that it wasn't viable. So I won't expect progress if I read thru what I find.

My words not welcome didn't mean can't post. If gurus would rather play social media here,
Than answer sophisticated questions that have gone for several or more days with zero replys,
More enjoyment to them. Half of the replys to my Thread don't show up to me unless I click View Post anyway.

Sorry if I "made" people waste their time on this. I'll happily mark it Solved now.

The guys at CyanogenMod have been working on these types of devices for a long time. Not sure how well they have mastered the ability to load an OS on to some of those older devices. If it has Android 2x then it is not worth the time to bother.

(correct spelt now)

It appears even CyanogenMod doesn't have a build for ZTE Midnight.
