Middle mouse button doesn't do unlimited scroll

I've been using Debian Sid for quite a while on acer aspire 3620 & recently my middle scroll button on touchpad /mouse has only been moving maybe 2-3 lines at a time, where as it was a continuous scroll originally. i installed xserver-xorg-input-synaptic & gpointer, no options are available to change middle button scrolling.
Quote:

grep "TouchPad: buttons:" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
returns

Quote:

edward@debianperfectionplus:~$ grep "TouchPad: buttons:" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
[ 29.529] (--) synaptics: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: buttons: left right double triple scroll-buttons
I can scroll with arrow keys
On this installation I have not altered X11/xorg

Hi Eddy you might find the following links helpful if you haven't find it yet.
It is possible to set the touch pad to behave like mac and more.

Thank you ukiuki I think that the the links that you have provided are the most helpful that I've gotten thru my google searches. After looking at the first & second links that you provided those functions work as far as 2-finger scroll, but I want to enable the center button to continuously scroll until released. I am hoping that the third link has that capability.
Thank you for your responce as it is most appreciated.
