microphone and touchpad drivers

first of all, microphones don't usually require a driver, they are a function of the sound card, if the sound out works then the microphone will work as well, you may have to go to the sound settings control panel and pick a 'profile' that works and includes a microphone, or perhaps the mic is just muted, either way it would be under system->preferences->sound

as for the touchpad, try looking under system->preferences->mouse and adjusting the settings

thanks, but no, I'm pretty sure it's some kind of a driver or bug problem, especially because I found this here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/767455

but as I said, I'm pretty new, and I don't how to fix it, can anyone help me ?

the thing is, if I touch or slide over the touchpad, I can't use the mouse anymore, well I can use it, but I can't click on stuff any more, I have to restart it and then it works again

upgraded it to ubuntu 10.10 and it's working now, so problem solved. But I'm pretty sure it was a bug or something like that
